Jal Mahal or Lake Palace makes one of the most wonderful sights of the pink city. The palace made up with light sand coloured stone walls gives a stark contrast to the deep blue shades of the water.
The visitors enjoy the magnificent exteriors of the palace as it appears to float in the centre of Man Sagar Lake. A marvellous example of Rajput architecture, Jal Mahal bedazzles all with its architectural beauty. It makes the most serene sight amidst the chaos of Jaipur.
While the palace looks to be a single storied structure, there are four other submerged levels in it too. The solid stone walls are strong enough to hold back millions of litres of water. Also the specially designed lime mortar has been preventing water seepage for over 250 years.
The best time to visit the Jal Mahal is from October to March. You will be surprised to see tourists from across the world gazing the beauty of this serene structure.
